The safety, comfort, and ease of access for our guests are of the utmost importance to us which is why we continually improve our website to make it more accessible as new guidelines are released. Sunset Marquis regularly consults with an accessibility consultant to assist in the compliance with the relevant portions of the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 Level AA (WCAG 2.1 AA). Please be aware that our efforts are ongoing. As such, some areas of the site may be in the process of undergoing enhancements. We are committed to staying up to date with the regulations and recommendations as they continue to evolve and implementing tools or practices that might provide a better experience either on our website or when visiting the hotel.

Resort Accessibility
The Sunset Marquis Hotel & Resort features 100 suites in our 3-story main building and 52 villas spread out amongst 3.5 acres of outdoor gardens, pools, and dining.
Below you will find a full description of those areas on our grounds and the accommodations we have made. Items identified as being “accessible” below are considered to comply with federal and state accessibility regulations.
Arrival:
Due to the topography, both at the hotel and in West Hollywood, certain areas can be difficult to physically navigate, including the sidewalk in front of the hotel.
Most areas in West Hollywood are situated on hills or on steeply graded streets. This also applies to your arrival at Sunset Marquis Hotel. We do have options for assisting those with physical disabilities when departing their vehicle at our entrance. One such option, with the assistance of our front door staff, is to pull the vehicle into our underground garage to securely park your own vehicle in one of our designated accessible spots. This option may be preferred as our garage area is flat and has easy access to elevators for arrival into our lobby. Sunset Marquis provides dedicated accessible parking spaces for self-parking in our secure garage. Elevators provide access to the main lobby and all rooms in the main building.
The main entrance to the hotel has ramp access from the sidewalk into the hotel should our guests prefer that option.
Hotel employees can provide both verbal directions and escorted support on the hotel property.
Service Animals are always welcome at Sunset Marquis.
Front Desk/Lobby Area:
Our front desk area includes an accessible table. All front desk and concierge services can be provided at this area.
Accessible restrooms are located adjacent to the lobby. Accessible Elevators are located off the main lobby, in the secure parking garage, and adjacent to the restaurant.
Suite Access:
The three-story main building at the Sunset Marquis houses the hotel’s standard rooms and suites. All accommodations in the main building can be accessed by two accessible elevators.
Garden Villa Access:
The Gardens Villas are located throughout the property and include upper and lower floor rooms. Due to changes in elevation at the hotel, some villas are more easily accessible than others, and upper floor villas are not accessible to guests in wheelchairs. Upper and lower floor rooms are largely identical in design and features. Our Alta Loma Villas, featuring rooms that were converted from homes built in the 1930s – 1940s, are not accessible.
Pool Access:
Sunset Marquis features two outdoor heated pools. The Main Pool is located off the lobby. The path of travel to that pool is accessible. This pool is heated year-round and features a pool lift to assist with entry into the pool for our guests with mobility concerns.
The Villa Pool is located in the heart of the property adjacent to the restaurant. Access to this pool for guests with mobility disabilities can be made via elevator by the entrance to the spa. This pool is heated year-round and features a pool lift to assist with entry into the pool for our guests with mobility concerns.
Restaurant Access:
Access to the restaurant, Cavatina, and all areas within the restaurant are accessible. Restaurant staff are available to read menus and other printed information for guests upon request.
Spa Access:
The Spa is accessible, except that the Spa bathrooms are not ADA accessible.
BAR 1200 Access:
BAR 1200 is located off of the main lobby and has accessible seating, except that seating at the countertop bar and the outdoor patio are not accessible. Bar staff will read menus and other printed information for guests upon request.
Accessible Rooms
Our accessible rooms have blinking lights on the wall to notify the hearing impaired. They also feature ADA alert kits for the hearing impaired that include a multi-function alerting system for phone, door knock, alarm clock and sound alerting. Smoke detectors, in-line telephone amplifiers, text telephones, and Assistive Listening Devices are also available. Guest room TVs have closed captioning. Some bathrooms have roll-in showers and handrails by the toilet. All accessible guest rooms and facilities are on the ground floor.
Accessible Superior One-Bedroom Villa
The large size (575 square feet / 53.42 square meters) of our accessible one-bedroom villa offers a spacious living area with views of the outside garden. The main entrance has a minimum of 32” of clearance and there is at least 36” of clearance on either side of the bed. The closet area provides 42” of clearance with a hangar height of no more than 48”. The bathroom features a sink at a maximum height of 34” off the floor, bottom of mirror no more than 40” off the floor, and a roll-in shower entrance with 39” of clearance along with a seat, grab bar on the adjacent wall, and a detachable shower head with all controls located between 38” and 48” off the floor. The toilet features grab bars on adjacent walls at 33” high and a seat height of 17”.
Non-Accessible Areas
Due to the elevation changes and age of the resort, some areas are not accessible to guests who use wheelchairs. The specific areas include Villa 20’s patio, Villa 10 patio, the Villa pool restroom, and a garden seating area directly below the Villa pool. Our Alta Loma Villas, which rooms were converted from homes built in the 1930s – 1940s are not accessible.
Our Boardroom is not accessible.
Our Wedding Garden is not accessible.
